An Experienced & Expert Invisalign Provider
Precision meets comfort and convenience with Invisalign, the virtually invisible alternative to braces at Moon Orthodontics.
Custom-made to Dr. Moon’s exact specifications, Invisalign allows you to effectively and efficiently straighten your teeth and still flash that fabulous smile without brackets and wires getting in the way.
What Is Invisalign?
Talk about the best of both worlds! The Invisalign system combines advanced 3D computer graphics technology with the 100-year-old science of orthodontics.
Invisalign aligners are made of clear, light-weight plastic and are designed to move your teeth in small increments to the desired final position prescribed by Dr. Moon.
How Does Invisalign Work?
Each aligner is precisely calibrated and manufactured to fit your unique mouth at each stage of the treatment plan. Your first step is to visit Moon Orthodontics for a free consultation to determine if Invisalign is right for you.
Once Dr. Moon sends Invisalign precise treatment instructions, the company will use advanced computer technology to translate these instructions into a sequence of finely calibrated aligners—as few as 12 or as many as 48.
You’ll wear each aligner for 20-22 hours per day for about two weeks and you’ll only remove the trays to eat, brush and floss.
As you replace each aligner with the next, your teeth will move gradually, week by week until they reach their final alignment prescribed by Dr. Moon. Then, you’ll be smiling like you never have before! Call today to schedule your visit in our Olathe or Overland Park orthodontist offices.

A Contemporary Approach to Braces
Invisalign takes a modern approach to straightening teeth. It uses a custom-made series of aligners created for you and only you. These aligner trays are made of smooth, comfortable and virtually invisible plastic that you wear over your teeth.
Step 1: Consult With Dr. Moon
First, you’ll meet with Dr. Moon, a Platinum Invisalign-trained provider, for a free consultation.
He’ll examine your mouth, evaluate your bite and discuss your questions and concerns. From there, he can determine if you’re a good candidate for Invisalign.
Step 2: Scan & Plan
Dr. Moon will use our iTero scanner to take a detailed digital impression of your teeth and gums (no more goopy trays of putty!), which is then available almost instantly as a 3D model of your mouth.
Dr. Moon will use this model to map out your treatment plan including the precise movements of your teeth. The coolest part? You’ll get to see a visual representation of how your smile will look at every stage of the treatment.
Step 3: Get Your Custom Aligners
Say goodbye to your old smile because, at this point, your treatment is officially underway! You’ll pick up your series of custom-made, clear aligners that were created based on your treatment plan from Dr. Moon.
For the best results, wear them 20 to 22 hours per day and take them out to eat, brush and floss.
Step 4: Swap Aligners Every Two Weeks
Typically, every two weeks or so you’ll begin wearing a new set of aligners. Your teeth will shift gradually into place as you change your aligners throughout your treatment.
In most cases, Dr. Moon will see you about every six weeks to check on your progress. With each new set, you’re one step closer to a beautiful, new smile.
What’s the Difference Between Invisalign and Braces?
Unlike traditional braces, smooth plastic Invisalign aligners don't have metal components that can irritate your mouth. Because they’re removed when you eat, you won't have to watch what you eat like you would when wearing braces – bring on the popcorn and peanuts.
In fact, the aligners must be removed for eating and for drinking anything other than water. You need to make sure you’re willing to do that before you decide on Invisalign clear braces.
To prevent staining, you’ll need to clean your teeth before putting the aligners back on after each time you eat. Of course, brushing and flossing are much easier than with traditional braces, since you don’t have to work around any brackets and wires.
Ideal for Teens
We want our teen patients to be excited about starting their journey towards straighter teeth at Moon Orthodontics, and Invisalign helps Dr. Moon do that.
Whether you’re a musician, an athlete, a thespian, class president, or anything else, you’ll be able to participate in all your activities without being held back by your orthodontic treatment.
And, since Invisalign aligners are made of clear plastic and almost invisible, your friends probably won’t even notice that you’re wearing them.
As a teenager, you should be able to participate in the activities you’re interested in and have the confidence to attend social events and make lasting memories. You should also be able to get efficient orthodontic treatment for crowded teeth, uneven spacing, and bite issues.
Invisalign helps you focus on doing what you do best—being yourself. At your initial consultation with Dr. Moon, you’ll find out how Invisalign can be a good fit for your smile and your lifestyle!
